Important Information about visiting Us in Practice

Due to the current COVID-19 situation in the UK, we’re doing everything we can to limit the spread of the disease, but we do need you to help us by adhering to the following guidelines:

  • In the interest of keeping our teams and clients safe, we are allowing only 1 person into the consultation room with their pet at any time. Please bring a mask with you, hand sanitiser will be provided at the door. You will not be allowed to enter the practice without a face mask.
  • When you contact us book an appointment, a member of our team will ask whether or not you have a new persistent cough and/or a high temperature. If you do, you’ll be asked not to come to the practice, alternative arrangements for your pet will be discussed. A telephone or video consultation can be arranged, a consultation fee will still apply.
  • On arrival, you will be greeted by a member of staff who will inform reception of your arrival. We ask that you do enter the building until you are instructed by a member of staff who will escort you into the practice whenthe Vet/Nurse is ready to see you.
  • In the interest of safety, we will avoid shaking hands with clients.
  • Please use the hand sanitisers provided, both when you arrive at our practice and when you enter the consult room. If you can’t find them, please ask a member of our team for assistance.
  • As recommeded by the WHO (World Health Organisation), we’d appreciate it if you could pay with card rather than cash.
  • If you need a home visit, we’ll ask you a series of questions to make sure our staff members are safe from the risk of infection.

Out of Hours Care

When the surgery is closed we always have a vet and a nurse on duty in case of emergencies and to deal with any animals hospitalised in the practice for treatment. The out of hours will always be based at our own surgery with staff you know and you will not need to trail hours across the country to a remote out of hours care centre. This means we always have your notes and previous history to hand and usually saves time.

Our Veterinary Hospital

Not all Veterinary practices are Veterinary Hospitals. Our Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) – and is the only one in this South Lincolnshire area. This means our staff, buildings, equipment, service and hygiene are of the highest standard. The hospital is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency cases and in-patient care.

Register your pet

All clients require to be registered with South Lincs Vet Group before they can be seen. This takes a few minutes of your time but once we have your details on file there should never be a need to give us them again as our advanced computer system will keep all the records updated etc.

If this is done over the phone depending on how busy things are we may initially take just the more basic information but ask that when you attend the first appointment you bring any details such as date of birth, microchip numbers, previous vaccination history etc so these details can be fully noted on the animal’s records.

Please be sure to bring all applicable information including details of any ongoing illnesses and treatment regimes when you visit the practice as these could be important to assessing an animal and further treatments.
