I have always loved animals and have owned a few different species over the years. My mum has always worked as a veterinary receptionist, growing up she inspired me so I decided to follow in my mum's footsteps. I was a veterinary receptionist for 5 years, joining South Lincs Vet Group in January 2017. I worked primarily at the Pinchbeck Clinic and helped set the clinic up when it first opened. I thoroughly enjoyed working on reception and being the clients first point of contact, but i realised my true passion was animal care. I started my VCS (Veterinary Care Support) training, an online distant learning course in August 2019.
I spent more and more time away from reception, assisting the nurses in caring for the animals that were in for surgeries. Eventually in January 2021 I moved over to the Sutterton Hospital where I became more involved in inpatient care as well as theatre work. I enjoy anaesthesia and the care of critical patients, I am eager to learn and am learning lots daily! I love learning the mechanisms of all the excellent equipment at the Hospital!
I received my VCS certificate in April, and have now got the bug for studying and would love to progress on to veterinary nurse training. I am hoping to start this later in the year.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner Sam, going on long walks along the river bank with our Rottweiler called Gus. I also have a beautiful black cat called Pammy who requires lots of attention and cuddles!
